GIACOMO PORETTI

My passion for scuba diving began a bit ‘by chance in 2000 during a trip to the Caribbean and more specifically in Punta Cana. The weather was bad so I tried in the pool, and I immediately loved it so I spent the rest of my holiday studying to take the PADI Scuba Diving.

Swimming with the fish and admire the many underwater wonders, however, was not enough, I wanted to document this wonderful world. After a while, I decided to buy my first camera: a small compact. Seeing that the results were not too bad and that my interest in the underwater world grew I bought my first SLR, a Nikon D60 and then move the current Nikon D300 with Subal Housing and Ikelite Strobe DS 125, which are working manual and TTL.

During the year, when I can’t travel I dive regularly in my beautiful lake of Lugano and the alpine lakes. Also I am fond of Cave Diving, the legendary buco della sovaglia. Currently I’m instructor. In 2011 I became a testimonial of the prestigious company Subal.
