Accessibility
The city of Manado is served by an international airport with services to Singapore (4 weekly flights operated by Silk Air) as well as domestic connections to Jakarta (non-stop and via Makassar), Surabaya and Bali via Makassar. The Island is approximately 45 minutes by boat from Manado. Our staff will greet you at the airport and escort you to our boat for your transfer.

Airport Taxes
Visitors to Indonesia are required to pay departure taxes at the airport. The departure tax for domestic travel is 20,000 Rp. while the tax for international departures is 75,000 Rp.

Airport Transfers
Our staff will pick you up at the airport and drive you to the Barracuda jetty outside Manado where our boat will transfer you to Siladen. Total transfer time from the airport to Siladen is approximately one hour.

Capacity
The resort is limited to only 30 guests. Two levels of accommodation: 5 "premium" Beach View bungalows each 64 square meters in size, with private open air bathroom, private sun deck, private sun beds; 5 "delux" Garden View bungalows each with 2 independent rooms, sized 48 square meters (each) with private open air bathroom. All rooms are equipped with AC, TV, safety deposit box, tea and coffee making facilities and a full set of amenities including hair dryers.

Climate
Located near the equator, temperatures remain constant throughout the year with highs near 33°C and lows that rarely fall below 27°C. Humidity may be high during the rainy season. The water temperature ranges between 27°C and 29°C.

Credit cards
The resort accepts VISA and Mastercard credit cards.

Currency
The official currency is the Rupiah. The rate of exchange is approximately 1US$ = 9,000 Rp. or 1 Euro = 14,000 Rp. The resort accepts Rupiah, Euro and US Dollars. Exchange rates are published every day at the reception. Please note that indonesian banking regulations do not allow us to accept US dollar bank notes dated prior to 2000 and bank notes that are not in perfect condition. All charges at the Resort are in Indonesian Rupiah.

Diving Center
The Diving Center is located on the Resort's premises and offers a full range of PADI courses. It is equipped with a Bauer compressor, Scubapro equipment and aluminium tanks with international valve. Documents and VISAS
Starting February 1st, 2004 Indonesia has introduced a new tourist visa regulation that applies to most foreign visitors. Different VISA regulations are in place depending on the traveller's country of citizenship. Check with your travel agent VISA regulations well in advance of your planned travel date. We also suggest you check that your passport has a minimum validity of 6 months.

Electricity
The Resort runs on 220 volt electricity. Standard European 2 round pin electricity plugs are in use.

Facilities
The resort offers guests a lounge, restaurant and bar area, a boutique, international IDD calling, a salt water pool, a fully equipped diving center with Bauer compressor, 5 boats for transfers, diving and excursions, a SPA, a first aid room and a reception area. Table games, a pool table and a small library are available for resort guests. A volleyball court is also available on the beach.

Excursions
Our diving center will be happy to organize excursions and activities for you. Among these rafting, trekking at Manado Tua and Mahawu vulcanos and kanyoning.

Internet access
Wireless internet access is available in all public areas of the Resort. Wireless USB cards are available at the front office. Charges apply.

Languages
The official language spoken is Indonesian. English however is widely spoken. At the resort you will find ex patriat staff that speaks English, German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Japanese and Italian.

Location
The lush tropical island of Siladen (28 hectars) is located in the Bunaken Marine Park, Manado, North Sulawesi, one of the world's premium diving destinations.

Religious services
The island of Siladen is predominantly Protestant. The island hosts a small Church where Sunday services are held in Indonesian.

Seasonality
You will enjoy Siladen at its best from early March to late November. In other periods of the year you may face the seasonal rain showers.

Security
The island of Siladen does not pose any particular security issues. Two trained security officers are on duty 24 hours a day.

Tides
Located almost at the equator, the island is subject to strong tides. During low tide it is possible to walk to the coral reef or walk around the island. Touring Siladen on foot takes approximately one hour. Click here to view tide maps.

Time difference
During winter, Siladen is +5 compared to GMT, +6 compared to Western Europe. The time difference is reduced by one hour when Europe switches to day light saving in the summer.

Uniquenes
Siladen Resort & SPA is exclusively located on a stretch of white coral beach facing the Manado Tua Vulcano. Here you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets. In addition the house reef, located in the world renowned Bunaken Marine Park offers exciting snorkelling and night diving.

Vaccination
There are no vaccinations required.
