For as long as I can remember, water and its elements has always fascinated me. My first dive adventures started over 30 years ago and I have been hooked since! From my very first dive, I have been trying to capture images to share these wonders of the ocean with my world.
These days I use a Canon 5D Mark 4 with a Seacam housing and strobe lights. Although the equipment is a bit bulky, once under water it’s just perfect. Seacam provides great solutions, it’s easy to use and super safe for your camera. I learnt the importance of investing in good housing after losing some cameras due to cheap housings. So my advice; don’t save on the housing. Your vacation is shot once you flood it. Better sure than sorry!
My favorite dive sights are within the coral triangle. I love the marine life here with its immense diversity, creatures hiding with perfect camouflage or interacting in an astonishing symbioses. I am always blown away when I immerse myself in this world and studying marine life from juvenile state to its adulthood is simply breath taking, and leaves incredible lasting impressions.
Nature is simply the greatest artist!
Over the years I have spent a lot of time around Sulawesi. This is by far my favourite dive spot for macro marine life. When in this part of the world, I like to share that I love the hospitality of Siladen Resort. I have come here six times now and I am always delighted with the warm hospitality, great food and very friendly and competent staff. I feel like part of the Siladen Resort family and with staff that I have come to know as my friends now. Despite its location, on an island, Siladen Resort’s kitchen never fails to satisfy with great meals, offering a combination of Italian and local cuisine. Certainly makes coming back from a great dive, really a delight when wining and dining under the open sky. Great environment, yummy food and wonderful company to share the marvel of the sightings at the dive. Makes your stay even more unforgettable.
The dive centre goes to great lengths to take really good care of both snorkelers and divers, regardless of your experience. The dive options offer good variety with fantastic wall and mug diving. My favorite is diving for macro marine life sights especially at night.
I like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Siladen Resort and to all readers, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this fantastic place! You will be very pleased you did.
