It is safe to say that this year has been our busiest ever at Siladen Resort & Spa. The high season seemed to last for several months, only quieting for a couple of weeks of mid-December. This quiet period has allowed us to get on with a few other tasks, which might not be considered urgent, but we want to get them done all the same.

The Siladen school is one of our main ongoing social commitment projects. The resort, along with very kind donations from guests, help provide the school with textbooks, uniforms and stationary. As we are now in this quieter period, it gives us the perfect opportunity to give the school a new look with a fresh coat of paint. Right now, we are just painting it white, however once that is done, we will add a few colourful images and patterns to brighten the place a little.

It is not just the school that is getting a fresh coat of paint either. We have recently expanded our compressor room to make space for our new oxygen membrane system. Once the new walls were placed, we painted them the same white as before, however, we thought a large white wall looks a little bit boring, and would also make a great canvas for something more suited to a diving resort. We ran some ideas with the dive centre team, who nominated Ferdy, one of our more artistic team members, to draw an amazing reef scene. It is already starting to look great, and we can’t wait to see the finished product!
