siladen-14

For those who visited us last September, you may remember us proudly launching our newest boat, Siladen 12. Unlike our other boats, it was made of fibreglass instead of wood. This made it much lighter in the water, and that coupled with her twin 100hp engines, she was quickly known unofficially as “the fast boat”. Because of her impressive top speed, she has been used to venture to more remote dive sites around Bunaken Marine Park, as well as to the muck diving hotspots in Manado Bay, the beautiful soft coral slopes surrounding Bangka, and even for transferring guests to and from Lembeh. It was clear from the very beginning that Siladen 12 was a firm favourite amongst our guests.

Because of her popularity, we have built another boat in the same style. Siladen 14 has now made her debut, and just like her predecessor, she is built from fibre glass, and again feature the same powerful 4 stroke engines. Just like any project, there were some things about Siladen 12 that we thought could have been done differently, and Siladen 14 gave us the perfect opportunity to produce the perfect dive boat! She is wider than Siladen 12, and has a larger area at the front of the boat for sightseeing and relaxing. We also changed the style of the cylinder rack, meaning that although the boat is only slightly larger, it feels much roomier, whilst being able to hold more cylinders. Some things we have kept the same though, such as the fresh water shower, purpose fitted camera rinse tank, and marine radio.

Having a 5th boat now means one boat is dedicated for shuttling guests between Siladen Resort and the North Sulawesi mainland, while the other 4 remain as dedicated dive boats. This allows us to ensure you get to do the kind of diving that interests you, whilst also enjoying spacious boats and uncrowded dive sites!
