SUSTAINABILITY-social-commitment A huge part of running a resort and a business in a developing country is the social responsibility that goes hand and hand with it. Indonesia, much like many other developing countries lacks some of the luxuries that we often take from granted in our home nations. Power, waste management and education are all things that the majority of people in the world do not have regular access to, and problems can become amplified in remote locations, such as on a small island.

This is why we do our upmost to support the local community. Aside from employing over 100 people from Siladen and the neighboring islands, we also provide free power to the local village. We also strongly believe that the future of both our oceans and our planet is heavily dependent on the younger generations of today. Education is the key to both reducing our waste, and disposing of it in an environmentally friendly manor.

At Siladen Resort & Spa, one of our long-term ongoing projects is providing the islands younger inhabitants with materials for school. This includes backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and all essential school materials. Utilizing these tools, the children can enhance their school education, and hopefully one day, they will be in a position to change the world for the better!

This project is not undertaken only by us, but many of our guests help us with this scheme. With generous donations by many of our guests, we have been able to supply school materials to the entire Siladen School! We are always looking to the future, and our next targets are to provide the school with a generator so they can have power all day, every day, as well as building and maintaining a pre school for all the younger children on the island.

If any one would like to help contribute to these projects then we always welcome guests to donate either a small amount of money, or school supplies and materials.
